Measure Backwards

If we only look at the road ahead, we’re likely to feel discouraged or overwhelmed. When we measure backwards instead of comparing ourselves to the ideal, we tap into a deeper sense of progress, peace, and motivation.

Let Them

We can’t control other people. Not their thoughts. Not their actions. Not their desires. Not how they see us. Trying to control what we can’t only leads to suffering. A better strategy? Let go. Remind ourselves to “let them” do what they’re gonna do and think what they’re gonna think. It’s our only real choice anyway.

We can use pain to become

What pain are you avoiding? Can you notice it in your body? Can you move towards it, sit close? Can you let it have its way with you? We can use our pain to become. How will you allow yours to forge you?
